Responsibilities
- Responsible for full cycle accounting including Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable and preparing financial statements
- Provide support to Payroll where necessary
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, analyze variances as required by management and assist with forecasting and inputs to the budget
- Prepare and post journal entries including deferred revenue, sales commission, amortization etc.
- Month-end reconciliations and bank reconciliations
- Prepare the year-end audit information and schedules, liaise with external auditor
- Prepare corporate T2 tax returns.
- Provide financial support to operational management and internal customers, analyze and research assigned ad-hoc projects as necessary
- Proactively identify and develop recommendations for improvement on accounting processes and procedures to incorporate best practice
- Excited by supporting several departments to ensure all areas are in sync and aligned with PE’s mission while helping to ensure our financial stability and growth
- Able to work independently and stay on task in a fast-paced, ever evolving environment. When priorities shift, you shift with them and revaluate your work day as needed while still meeting deadlines.
- You are a master puzzle solver. You can coordinate multiple calendars and schedules to ensure seamless communication and delivery of tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor Degree or diploma in Accounting or pursuing the CPA designation
- Minimum 2 years experience in full cycle accounting
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment (startups or hyper-scale organizations)
- Experience in QuickBooks is a must, knowledge with other ERP systems is an asset
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Experience working in fast paced environment and able to meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team environment
- Knowledge with Inter-company, multi-currencies, consolidation is an asset
- Experience with SRED is an asset.
